Personal Biography
Steve grew up in Cincinnati, OH and came to faith in Christ at age 17. In college he was actively discipling with Campus Crusade for Christ, and it was through this ministry that he and Robin met. Robin grew up in Nashville, TN and also came to faith in Christ at age 17. They married in 1978.
Steve attended Dallas Theological Seminary and was preparing for a teaching ministry, pursuing a PhD in Old Testament after completing his Th.M. studies. Toward the end of his studies, he began to serve as a pastor. He pastored in Texas and South Carolina for several years. He also served CBMW as an administrator, editor and designer from 1992 to 1999. Alongside this he founded a K-8 Christian School, where he and Robin developed a particular curriculum for the school, focusing on World History.
In 1999 he and his family relocated to Germany, where he pastored Munich International Community Church, an English-speaking church comprised of people from over 50 different nations. During this 23 years of service, they invested in the lives of over 10,000 men, women and children who were a part of their church. Robin was very active in Children’s ministry and women’s discipleship and Bible studies.
While in Munich, Steve was able to connect with several different ministries in Moldova, and has traveled there to serve in various capacities. He has taught Bible, Communications, and Children’s Ministry/Christian Education at Moldova Bible Seminary, beginning in 2011.
In 2022, the Hendersons entered a “retirement” phase and relocated to Görlitz, Germany (a city directly on the eastern border of Germany with Poland). There they are active in their local German-speaking church; Steve teaches in a regional Bible Institute, and preaches monthly in an English-speaking international church in Dresden.
